Sugar Cookies

1 cup butter
2 cups sugar
1 eggs
2 Tbsp milk
2 tsp vanilla
4 cups flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt

Cream sugar and butter. Add milk, vanilla and egg and cream together until smooth. In a separate bowl, combine all dry ingredients and stir well. Add to wet ingredients, making a smooth dough. Refrigerate 1 hour. On well floured surface, roll out dough to desired thickness. For soft cookies, roll thicker for crunchy cookies, roll thinner. Bake at 375 for 10-12 minutes.
